Nearly a thousand years later, post division of North and South Korean, the Central Bank of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korean was established in 1947. From there, a new system of coins and paper money currency was issued to the Koreans, which lost its value over time. And in 2001, the Koreans went to the dollar that was established back in 1978.
