Collecting coins from Hong Kong are affected because of this cultural merge, and in some coins and paper money, the heritages are actually entwined, which makes for some curious looking currency. A lot of these Hong Kong coins and paper money happen to be inexpensive, as a lot of them are not all that rare. Yet, they are great to add to any collection because the coins signify the United Kingdom’s rule over Hong Kong from the years 1842 until 1997.
