Press Kits Television Memorabilia Entertainment Memorabilia
Television memorabilia collectors might do well to consider collecting press kits. When launching a TV series, television networks send press kits to media outlets such as newspapers, magazines, popular entertainment websites, radio stations, and even other television stations (cable channels like HBO often opt for this type of promotion). A Television press kit will normally contain written materials like a cover letter, the premise of the series, a synopsis of the pilot and press release. It will normally contain promotional images, such as production still or photos of stars. Some studios also provide a video press kit containing Television trailers, actual Television scenes, and interviews that the media can use when referring to the Television. Press kits are not generally distributed to the general public and thus are scarce enough to be exciting to collect.Discount & Bargain
If you are just starting to collect Television memorabilia, like press kits, it is sensible to be selective. Choose a theme according to what you like best, as no one can predict what move memorabilia will be considered collectible in the future. This applies press kits. If you enjoy owning and displaying your collectibles, then it won’t matter if it is ultra-valuable.
The cardinal rule of Television memorabilia collecting applies to press kits as well—always go for quality rather than quantity. More is less, more or less. Pay careful attention to condition, as pristine mint condition items hold their value far better in the long run. You may not be buying Television memorabilia press kits with the intention of reselling them, but if you find yourself ever needing or wanting to sell you will be glad you kept the press kits in top condition.
