As with all collectibles, condition greatly affects value. A television poster’s value is determined by demand, rarity, and condition. Poster collectors use the same grade system used by comic book collectors: mint (perfect), near mint, very good, good, fair, and poor. If you are just starting to collect Television posters, be selective. Choose a theme according to what you like best, as no one can predict what television memorabilia will be considered collectible in the future. This applies posters. If you enjoy owning and displaying your posters, then it won’t matter if they are ultra-valuable.

 

To keep your posters in top condition and retain their value, there are many things you should keep in mind. Never place your poster in direct sunlight. Never bend, tear or punch holes in your poster, even to hang it. Don’t repair tears or holes with tape, as the chemicals in the adhesive will ruin your poster. Never write on the poster, even on the back. They sometimes bleed through the poster and will definitely diminish the value. If the poster is damaged, take it to a professional poster restorer, rather than attempting to fix your TV poster yourself.
