Rock, Pop Music Memorabilia Entertainment Memorabilia
Pop and rock memorabilia is the gold standard for music memorabilia. If you buy memorabilia of an enduring star, it will never go down in value. Some are more collectable than others, however, such as vintage stars from the birth of rock and roll, like Buddy Holly. Buddy Holly died a tragic death in a 1959 air accident, before he had a chance to realize his Potential. That makes Holly memorabilia even more valuable, because he had such a short life. This is true of other mega-stars who died young as well, regardless of era, such as Keith Moon, Jimi Hendrix or Kurt Cobain.Discount & Bargain
The rare the item, the better a candidate it is for your rock and pop memorabilia collection. With most rock or pop stars, the pool of items is finite – short of a surprising discovery, there won’t be any more. That means good, authenticated items will increase in value. For investment, you want to spend more on the less common items whose value is likely to increase more rapidly.
One of the fastest-growing areas of rock memorabilia is the punk era. In part this is because those who were part of it are now old enough, and with enough money, to indulge in nostalgia, but also because 1960s memorabilia has become so expensive. Punk was a deliberately confrontational underground movement with its own fanzines (which have become very collectable). Fashion played an important role, so many items such as costumes are highly collectable. Posters are very collectable as well, especially from 1976, when the movement just started.
